Professional Learning
These pages are an indication of the professional learning opportunities for teachers in NSW that have been presented by the Computing Studies Teachers’ Association over the past five years. Every year there are four events and each one offers a number of different learning experiences. These include:
• hands-on software learning sessions
• lectures by recognised experts
• panel sessions
• resource sharing sessions led by Teachers recognised in the subject area
• development of teaching programs
• Web 2.0 and its use in Computing classes
• Project implementation and management strategies
As a member you have access to a secure area of the site where you can search for suitable material using keywords such as IPT, IST, Flash, spreadsheet etc
From 2008 Institute of Teachers standards have been added to the course descriptors so that “teacher recognised” courses may be used for teachers to maintain accreditation.
